Our goal
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We build that into the code itself rather than relying on an add-on tool.
What we’ve checked
On October 13, 2026 we tested every page on desktop and phone sizes with automated accessibility checks, moved through every page using only a keyboard, and checked that pop-up panels close with the Escape key and return you to where you were. The site has a “Skip to content” link, visible focus outlines, text descriptions for images, and works when zoomed or on narrow screens. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations are turned off.
Known limits
Some decorative animations run while you’re on the page. They stop if your device is set to reduce motion. Links to other websites, such as Google Maps and HONOLULU Magazine, are run by those companies.
